I iz knowing your licenze plate number

No, really. If we've met more than twice, chances are I know your license plate number. Some people find this creepy; others are impressed by it. To me, it's all just part of the game.

I play a game where I track Washington state license plates. Our license plates consist of three numbers followed by three letters, e.g. 782 RBC. The game is to find license plates of all the number combinations (000 to 999) in order. Two and a half years ago, I started playing when I saw a license plate starting with 000 in the International District of Seattle. It took a while to find a license plate starting with 001, but Traskie helped me out. Since then, it's been pretty smooth sailing. I'm currently looking for 193. I had a big week in late June where I saw eight plates in eight days. But I've been stalled on 193 for a while, so it's balancing out.

I figured out my average at one point. I counted the number of cars I viewed in an average week and based on the frequency of each license plate number figured out how long it would take me to see all of them. Currently (even with the stalled 193) I'm way ahead of schedule. I think I need to refigure my average calculation though. I've moved to a new neighborhood since then and that could drastically affect the number of cars I'm seeing in a given week.

At any rate, because I'm constantly paying attention to license plates, they tend to stick with me. I know the license plates (at the least the numbers, but in many cases, the full plate number) of most of my friends. I don't think there's anything creepy about this; not all of them agree.
