Maybe this will help explain the "do-overs"

ok, so I jacked this list of questions from one of the blogs I read. Kinda fun to answer and think about:

1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before? Hiked the Andes Mountains in Peru
2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions and will you make more for next year? Um...I dont really remember last year's resolutions, so I doubt I kept them. I'll probably make more and forget those too.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Yes! B and wife have a beautiful baby girl!
4. Did anyone close to you die? Sadly, yes: Aunt Staci died in October.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008? more time at the beach
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Well, it's not so much dates as whole weeks. Like mid-May, early September and early October.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Hiking the Inca Trail
9. What was your biggest failure? Oh dear. How to pick just one...there were a number of dating failures, then there was getting kicked off an account by my client and then there's my bank accounts, my hair color and a couple of REALLY bad outfits.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Contracted some bizarre eye infection (which, upon examination led my doctor to comment, "ugh! that looks angry!") and had my wisdom teeth removed
11. What was the best thing you bought? Not to sound stupid, but I did buy some jeans that I absolutely adore. Wearing them makes me happy. Also, the battery-operated pepper mill I gave my grandmother for Christmas....it's totally BA!

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? There were a few and most of them were born in 1975.
14. Where did most of your money go? Away
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? My trip to Peru!!!!!
16. What song will always remind you of 2008?

21. Did you meet/date anyone special in 2008? mmhmm
What the hell happened to 22?
23. How many one-night stands? Depends on your definition of "one-night stand"...either two or zero.

28. What did you want and get? a black pashmina

31. What did you do on your birthday and how old were you? I turned 26 and I went to a local Australian bar for pub trivia and good eats with good friends. I had a great time!
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? more chick-fil-a
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008? A little more colorful that previous, slightly edgier, but still kinda the same.
34. What kept you sane? friends. and booze.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Michael C. Hall....he plays a sympathetic serial killer and it's HOT.

First 22 and now 37 is missing?
38. Who was the best new person you met? Midori...although technically we had met briefly once in the backseat of Fritha's car, we had a fab trip and I'd do it again anytime!
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008. Guard your heart.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year. It's more than a feeling!

RILLA #63

Reasons I Love Living Alone: #63

If I wanted to come home from vacation in Peru and leave my suitcase unpacked in the living room while eating a BIG salad and then napping through season three of Sex and the City...I could. You know, hypothetically...if I wanted to.

It might be a tad cliche, but...

I like to watch Sex & the City. I think I've seen all the episodes and I've seen some of them twice.

Ok, I've actually seen every episode so many times I've lost count and if I had kept count, I would probably be ashamed to admit the number. Suffice to say, I'm familiar with the show.

If someone pinned me down and forced me to pick a favorite episode, I'm not sure I could do it. I could probably get it down to a top five list, but doubt I could get it down to just one. That being said, I can pretty easily identify my LEAST favorite episode. It's in the first half of season three, before Charlotte meets Trey, before Carrie meets Aidan. It's called "boy, girl, boy, girl" and features guest stars including Alanis Morrisette and Eddie Cahill (CSI: NY, Miracle, Rachel's assistant Tag on FRIENDS).

The whole episode is just lame. None of the characters are involved in terribly interesting storylines: Carrie dates a younger guy with bisexual tendencies, Charlotte hosts a drag king art exhibit, Miranda gets annoyed with Steve (again) and Samantha has sex with her assistant. The puns and quips seem lackluster, there are no great quotables...just kinda lame.

And just for fun, my top five favorite episodes:

Season 2: "the man, the myth, the viagra" - Miranda meets Steve and Samantha gets with the old man
Season 4: "my motherboard, my self" - the one where Miranda's mom dies (I cry every time)
Season 4: "change of a dress" - Carrie breaks out in hives trying on a bad wedding dress and Miranda fakes a sonogram
Season 5: "i love a charade" - the one with the hamptons wedding
Season 6: "one" - Brady's first birthday party
