RILLA...in Singapore
So there's no one to see me consume what I can only describe as THE most ghetto dinner ever (saltines with butter and some apple-pomelo yogurt) while catching up on How I Met Your Mother episodes online.
I have to watch HIMYM online because I dont get American TV in Singapore. Except for a couple of HBO channels and a couple of Discovery Channels and E!. But the programming is delayed, so I'm watching last season's Keeping Up With the Kardashians....so I'm all caught up on them.
And I have to watch HIMYM online at home, because I have to use my VPN so that the internet thinks I'm in America. Because in Singapore, on Singapore internet, you cant stream. Which means that for the most part, I am without ESPN360, Pandora, CBS.com, hulu and anything else streaming. Except YouTube.
So to celebrate my access to television, I poured myself a glass of wine. From a screw top bottle. That was S$15 on sale. (Regular price: S$25).
And now I'm eating leftover Thanksgiving cookies that I smuggled back into Singapore from my trip to the US to visit the fam last week.
I'm VERY glad there's no one here to witness this progression of events. And judge me for it. To my face.

IT Confessional
Conversations (I'm trying to avoid) with my IT guy:
Me: "My computer's acting funny."
IT: "Did you spill water on it?"
Me: "No. Water? No."
IT: (rolling his eyes in annoyance)"Did you spill anything on it?"
Me: "Yes."
IT: (getting more frustrated) "What did you spill?"
Me: "It was either a merlot or a cabernet sauvignon...I don't remember."
IT: "Wait. You spilled RED WINE on your laptop!?!?" (voice escalating in volume and intensity)
Me: "Yeah. Do you think it will stain?!"
IT walks away muttering some incoherent, but may have been a hexing curse or a pox upon my docking station.
Bless his heart. Nick Burns is a good IT guy. I don't want to scare him off.
Which is why I'm trying to keep this conversation from happening.

RILLA #21
Reasons I Love Living Alone #21
When I find out that a wine glass will fit in my lap desk cup holder and sit around watching tv and updating Facebook without having to reach ALL THE WAY to the coffee table for my glass of wine, there's no one around to call me lazy.
And 14 minutes later when I learn (the hard way) that putting a wine glass in the cup holder of my lap desk is a little unstable, there's no one to laugh at me and my wine-stained lap.
There's also no one to help me sop up the wine from the rug, the loveseat, the lap desk and my lap. But then, maybe I don't need help sopping up wine from my lap.
