Yes, I know I'm old-fashioned. I have learned to embrace it. I'm not out of touch...I Twitter, I'm on Facebook, I don't say "groovy" or even "cool beans".
But there are some things I just can't get behind. Like pre-teen girls wearing thongs and dressing like women who earn their money on street corners. And the ubiquity of the "F word". Seriously, people, when did that become ok!?!?
I mean, it's one thing to allow the F-bomb in cable or premium channel television, as they all come with the warning and you know what you're about to see/hear. But how is this allowed as a domain name? With zero warning?
The act to which that word refers is probably not a good idea for mixed-company conversation. But if you are going to discuss it, there are SO many creative and colorful euphemisms to choose from: there are the nonsense words (Boink, Pork, Shag), the odd phrases (make whoopee, knock boots, do the horizontal tango), the hardware terms (Bang, Nail, Screw) and the ones that sort of sound the same (Freak, Frick, Puck).
And yet, still, the F word (which of course, no one calls "the F word" anymore) pops up in everyday conversation.
I know I'm old-fashioned, but is nothing taboo anymore? Have we become totally desensitized?
*sigh*
