It was a good day

Today was a good day! No one I know got killed in south central LA...no smog, no barking from the dog.

I was sure I was going to miss the bus, but I caught it! Minimal drama at work. Had a fantastic and delicious salad for lunch.

THEN I was reminded that we had popsicles in the fridge and had a red-flavored one mid-afternoon. It even had a joke on the stick! (Q: What should you keep your stick collection in? A: a pole vault)

I got some good work done at the office today, didn't even have to use my AK.

Then I went to the gym, had a good workout, with minimal locker room nudity, a pleasant bus ride home and a lovely evening.

I went to the grocery store, where I kicked some serious ass. I'm not kidding, I totally kicked Safeway's ass. I hadn't been grocery shopping in more than a month, so I was buying a lot. But I did it well. I saved 40% on my shopping, which was more than $100!! I got some gorgeous bell peppers, tomatoes, raspberries, brownie mix, lemonade, wine and Cap'n Crunch!!! Oh yeah, and BOGO Cheez-Its. (The kind with two flavors in one box: I got Queso Blanco, Sharp Cheddar, Parmesan and Zesty Cheddar). AND I found the elusive sliced olives! (Last time I was at Safeway trying to buy sliced olives, I wandered around for HOURS...ok 10 minutes...looking for the dang olives, or someone to ask. I finally had to give up and go home without olives. This time, I found the dang olives. All by myself. Yay.)

THEN I came home and made a lovely pasta salad (for lunch this week) with bell peppers and tomatoes and olives (olives!) and stuff, and I used my handy veggie slicer thing I got for Christmas to do it.

Then I made some toasted sourdough with gorgonzola and sliced tomato (which was delicious) which I enjoyed with some Penguin wine (which is delicious).

The only thing that could make this day better would be seeing the lights of the Goodyear blimp, or maybe some 2am Fatburger. But, for the most part, I got to say, it was a good day.
